馬來西亞消費水平中餐和晚餐壹般要2.5－3.5林吉，早餐1－2林吉。如果自己做飯會便宜些。馬來西亞生活費用不很高，物價壹般是國內的兩倍，但有許多商品比國內便宜，在外就餐費用會與國內大城市持平或者更低。馬來西亞大城市如吉隆坡，在餐室吃早餐壹般是5-8林吉以內，下午餐在餐室{咖啡店}也是5-8林吉以內，如果在商場吃壹餐壹人大約15-30林吉，晚餐在餐室吃壹般也是5-8林吉，如果去高級地方就15-30林吉。貨幣兌換$1馬來西亞令吉=1.64人民幣1人民幣=0.61馬來西亞令吉馬來西亞貨幣為林吉特RM，匯率約為1人民幣=0.5林吉特，1美金=3.2林吉特。人民幣不能在中國國內兌換成馬幣，但是在馬來西亞任何換錢中心(MoneyExchange)都能兌換。不推薦在機場大量兌換馬幣，遊客只需在機場兌換少量零錢，夠支付路費即可。不過來檳城前最好在吉隆坡兌換好足量的馬幣，因為檳城的貨幣兌換點沒有吉隆坡那麽多，匯率也相對更低壹點。機場，購物中心和酒店都設有外幣兌換中心(壹般只收紙幣)。每間商場都有MoneyChanger，不過市中心的MoneyChanger匯率都略低。大多數酒店在接受換幣時會征收額外費用。旅行支票壹定要在銀行兌換。去郊外地區旅遊時，壹定要帶足夠的現金和零錢。馬幣在機場兌換不劃算，市內有很多比較劃算的兌換點。如果是從吉隆坡出發到其他城市的話，最好還是在吉隆坡換好足夠錢再出發，因為其他城市的匯率低過吉隆坡，而且舊了的錢和有破損的錢是不收的。小費馬來西亞沒有壹定要給小費的習慣，如果對服務滿意，可以視情況給5-10林吉的小費。在餐館內就餐，結賬時賬單內通常包含6%的政府稅和10%的服務稅，所以不需要再給小費。

有很多因素。最主要的就是文化因素。
“只有壹家之主才能去超市”，馬來西亞這項在疫情期間推出的政策其實暗戳戳的體現了性別歧視。比如為何男性就壹定是壹家之主？而且為何只有男性能去超市？
而且搞笑的是，這項規定出臺後，還引起了不小的麻煩。缺乏經驗的男人們紛紛在超市裏迷路，對於菜品“傻傻分不清”，有的超市專門為此發布了“丈夫購物指南”。
馬來西亞的性別歧視其實很明目張膽。比如最近就有壹個熱搜，說馬來西亞建議女性哪怕在家辦公的時候“也要註意儀表”，不能衣冠不整。“要像哆啦A夢那樣體貼”、不要抱怨，營造壹個好的家庭環境。
聽到這些，是不是以為自己回到了上個世紀？對女性這麽多要求，卻分文不提男性該如何盡到自己的義務,充分體現出馬來西亞的父權社會。
原因是宗教對當地的影響非常大。雖然文化多元，但馬來的人口組成大多是穆斯林，回教占有統治地位，風氣十分保守。女性要戴好頭巾，不能參加有男性的娛樂活動，需盡到壹個“婦人的本分”。
有數據顯示，在婚姻當中，馬來西亞的未婚女性第壹看重的就是宗教。因為信仰不同，生活起居和思想觀念就存在非常大的差異，影響二人生活。
而且大多數馬來女性沒有不婚想法。因為她們的宗教把婚姻視為“聖行”，反對獨身主義。出於這種原因，當地法律允許馬來西亞人壹夫多妻，壹位男性最多可以娶四位女性，而華人則是壹夫壹妻制。
這種思想上的強大束縛持續壓迫著當地女性。雖然近年來國家的平權意識有所提高，但總體而言，馬來女性地位仍然很低，未來還有許多路要走。
